My first post!

Hey, hey, hey! It’s Neve here and welcome to my first EVER blog. I’m beyond excited to get this up and running.

I’m going to be doing lots of different things, so here are a few things:

  • Interviews w/ youtubers and other bloggers!
  • Fashion reviews
  • Promotion of my youtube channel
  • Bullet journal ideas
  • Advice
  • How to be positive!
  • Revision
  • so much more!

Once I have gathered more viewers I will start to post more. Until then, See you next time!

Why I have been so inactive.

Hey hey hey! Welcome back to my blog. A lot of you have messaged me through Instagram asking when I will be blogging again. I’m trying my best. It’s hard to juggle Instagram, YouTube and blogging all at the same time. But here’s a little more insight so you can really see where my head is at.

I wasn’t going to write this blog post today. I wasn’t going to write any blog post today, but I thought this might be the right time to tell you my thoughts and feelings.

I’m having so much fun in lockdown, I’m trying my best to stay positive and make the most out of a negative situation. I’ve concentrated on myself, figured out what I’ve wanted for my channel and I’ve also been loving Instagram. With my blog, I feel like I’ve lost my love for it. But I promise, I am working on it. I constantly look at other bloggers’ posts and think “wow they are so good at what they do”, while I’m here sat trying to figure out how to get a picture underneath a paragraph. I’m working on blog posts and I have a few scheduled but I’m scared to post them. I’m scared because I constantly think “what if it doesn’t do well” or “what if no one likes the post”. Again, I’m working on being more confident in this area. I just needed to get all my thoughts and feelings in a post.

I’ll be back soon, I promise. Just please be patient with me while I figure out what I want with my blog. I love you ❤

My Favourite YouTubers

Hey hey hey! Welcome back to my blog and another post! Today I’m going to be talking to you about 10 youtubers I love and why I watch them, hopefully recommending you to some new people! I will be giving 5 small youtubers and 5 ‘made it’ youtubers so you can have a mix of who you might like! Starting with the small youtubers:

5) Martine Rigard – Martine is a very good friend of mine in the YouTube and instagram world. We found each other from another account shouting us out! She’s a very pure girl, who loves to make videos and her videos are really, really entertaining! She isn’t someone who just uploads whenever she wants, she takes her time in her uploads and makes sure she has them perfect!

4) Hannah Catharine – I met Hannah on a small youtuber support group chat on instagram! Hannah is a lovely girl, who supports me so much in everything I do which I’m super grateful for! I supported Hannah’s channel before I met her on instagram and I’ve loved her content for a while now. She takes time in her content, and I just LOVE her editing!

3) Olivia Grace – I’ve been following Liv and her blog for a quite a while now and I was over the moon when I found out she had a YouTube channel! She works so hard on all of her content, blog content and youtube content. And she’s currently slaying it over on Instagram! You can tell that she works hard to create content that she knows people will enjoy, and I’m one of those people that enjoy watching and reading her content!

2) Grace Ariya – Grace has been a friend of mine for a while now. Her content is so pure and she is slaying it! She is so close to 3.6k subscribers which is insane! If you are into fashion and style, tiktok hacks, vlogs and study videos then you NEED to check out Grace’s channel! What I love about her channel, is that she covers content that everyone can love. For example, a subscriber might not really be interested in fashion and style but could really be interested in studying and revision, which Grace covers!

1) Love Charley – Charley is an AMAZING friend of mine who I met through a youtube small support group! We have something very special planned soon… hehe. I love Charley’s content because it is really relatable. She posts up-to-date videos in which people can definitely enjoy! She posts really enjoyable content in which you can binge watch 24/7!

Now, onto the bigger youtubers!

5) Tara Yummy – I found Tara through Sam & Colby and friends! Tara is hilarious, who carries 200k subscribers and she’s doing SO WELL for herself. I’ve been following Tara for a year, and her content is so funny and she listens to her followers. Her boyfriend, Jake Webber, is also one of my favourite youtubers and they are the PERFECT match. They both bounce off each other and Jake helps and supports Tara so much. If you have never watched or seen one of her videos, PLEASE GO AND WATCH! She is so enjoyable.

4) Jake Webber – Jake is one of THE CRAZIEST people on YouTube but I love it so much. He is so funny and the videos he makes, makes you laugh out loud. 9 times out of 10 I’ll end up rolling around on the floor laughing so hard. Random, I know. He lives in ‘The Traphouse’ with three other youtubers who are also his best friend’s. Jake started on Vine and grew his following on there, but moved over to YouTube when Vine stopped. Jake creates content which is so RANDOM. You literally never know what he’s going to post next which is what I love about him.

3) Annie Long – I found Annie in my recommendations list about a year ago, and clicked on her video. Since then, I have LOVED her videos and can’t wait until she posts. She posts relatable teenage girl videos and gives so much advice that has helped me out so much! She is different to other youtubers in the sense that she doesn’t just do typical videos, she makes them her OWN. She is always really good at giving credit to other youtubers, which is SO important to do. If you haven’t watched Annie and you are looking for relatable content, Annie will be someone to give you that!

2) AndrewTMI – I found Andrew through watching Loey Lane’s videos. I thought he was absolutely hilarious. I’ve been watching Andrew’s videos for 2 years now and I love his videos so much. Claim to fame: I have a twitter fanpage and Andrew actually follows me on it! We either dm or retweet each others tweets lol! Andrew always comes up with great ideas, and some can be so random! He includes his parents a lot and altogether they are all SO FUNNY!

Now, number 1 spot is TWO youtubers (sorry ah)

1) Sam & Colby, Reggie Webber – Let’s start with Reggie Webber. As you’ve probably guessed, Reggie is Jake’s brother. My fan page on twitter is dedicated to Reggie and I also recently started a fanpage for him on Instagram called ‘reggiesgolden’. Reggie also follows me on twitter, and I literally love him so much. He’s so random and so funny. My friend on twitter surprised me with a video from Reggie and I watch it whenever I need hyping up or whenever i feel down. Reggie, says what he thinks. It is ALWAYS hilarious. I will always support Reggie and I’ll always hype his videos up hehe.

Sam & Colby – I found Sam and Colby about 3 years ago now. I’ve been obsessed since. They have independent channels but they have a combined channel. I’m talking about all three lol. The combined channel features the two of them exploring haunted places with Jake Webber and Corey Scherer. They always choose the best places to go and they make the content really enjoyable. They are constantly trying to make videos better and are trying to make their fans believe in the paranormal. They are the reason why I am so into the paranormal!

So there you have it, my favourite YouTubers. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and I’ll see you soon!

My Top Ten Musicals

Hey hey hey! It’s Neve here and welcome back to my blog! So, I originally planned to do this as a youtube video, I started to film it but then thought that people over video wouldn’t be as interested which is absolutely fine! So I thought I would do this as a blog post.

In today’s blog post I’m going to be going through my top ten musicals and why they are ranked that way. I’m going to be explaining why I love them and will also be ranking them out of 5 stars.

10) Hairspray – The main reason why I love hairspray is due to the message behind it. It is set in the 1960’s where there were many problems with racism and sexism and much more. However, what I like about having it set in this time is that it is modernised. The songs are amazing in this musical. I’ve seen it in movie but unfortunately not in musical, however my sister was the role of Penny Pingleton when we did three shows for our three groups at Team. The young group did Matilda, the middle group did Hairspray and my group (the older group) did Blood Brothers. My favourite song from this musical is ‘Run and Tell That’. I’ve begun to choreograph a dance to this and I am super excited! I would rate this musical a 3 out of 5 stars just because it isn’t my favourite musical.

9) Matilda – This musical has always had a place in my heart, and it always will. Matilda started out as just a movie, but the amazing Tim Minchin saw potential in it for it to be a musical, and thank god he did. I saw Matilda a few years ago in London as a birthday treat for my mom. What I love about it is that you don’t have to be a musicals fan to enjoy it. It’s family friendly, there are loads of laughs in it and young children can relate to the fact that it is set in a school. I’ve sang ‘When I grow Up’ as a solo about 4 years ago and my favourite song from the musical is ‘My House’ as it is so touching. I would rate this musical 4 out of 5 stars because it has a special place in my heart.

8) Little Shop of Horrors – I never was a fan of little shop of horrors until I saw it performed at my old school. They did this show two years after I left my school to go to BOA. My best friend and I went to see it together and we really enjoyed it. The cast was casted perfectly which made it even better! I have performed in it but I did a spin off show of it. We did ‘Little Shanto of Horrors’. Shanto is a mix between show and panto as it had elements of pantomimes but also had elements of a show. What I like about Little Shop is that it has an unusual and unique storyline. Come on… it’s about a plant… that TALKS! It doesn’t fit into the usual cliche of musicals, which is whats different about it. My favourite song is ‘Suddenly Seymour’, that song is beautiful. I would rate this musical a 3.5 out of 5 stars because I wasn’t a massive fan of it before (harsh I know).

7) Frozen – You probably think I am talking about Frozen the Disney film… well you thought wrong. I have never seen Frozen the musical purely because it hasn’t come to the West End yet. It has been on Broadway for a while now and it has been one of my biggest dreams to see it! It has the same elements of the film but there are a few extra songs. I have seen SO MANY clips of the musical, it makes me so excited. My favourite songs from the musical are ‘Monster’ and ‘Fixer Upper’! They are so good ah! When Frozen comes to the West End I am BEGGING my mom to take me ahaha. I would rate this a 4 out of 5 stars because the songs are just perfect.

6) Blood Brothers – I saw Blood Brothers a month before I was due to play one of the main characters (Mrs Lyons) and I just LOVE the storyline. The musical first came out in 1995 and addressed situations such as lower class and higher class. I do really like the songs in the musical and I also love how a lot of it is based around superstitution. I’ve seen it and performed in it! It was my first main role that I sang a proper solo in and I was so NERVOUS! But it paid off, look where I am now. I’ve been to BOA for two years and I’m the LEAD in Wicked! My favourite song is ‘My Child’ as that was my first solo in the show! I would rate this show a 5 out of 5 stars purely because it is amazing and it’s helped me to get where I am now. Beyond grateful.

5) Mamma Mia! – This movie musical is what got me into Musical Theatre. You guys know this from my musical theatre post! But this musical genuinely has my heart. I saw Mamma Mia! with my Nan, the day it came out. Since then, we have loved it and watched it almost every time we see each other. My favourite song from it is ‘Slipping through my fingers’ because it represents mine and my nan’s relationship. She’s my best friend and I’m so happy to share my love for Mamma Mia! with her! We also saw Mamma Mia Here We Go Again! with her too. We love that movie too but the first will always be our favourite. I have seen Mamma Mia! in theatre and it was with my nan, again! We were second row too, which made it even better! I would rate Mamma Mia! with 5 out of 5 stars as I love the songs and it brought me and my nan together which i’m so happy about.

4) Waitress – I listen to the Waitress soundtrack EVERYDAY! I am literally obsessed with it. I’ve never seen it, but I am making it my mission to see it. I love the story and I am obsessed with the songs. I have always wanted to sing ‘When he sees me’ as a solo and I am hoping to get given it for my next variety show. However, I did sing ‘She used to be mine’ with a group of girls last year in a variety show. My favourite song is ‘She used to be mine’ but I also LOVE ‘Never getting rid of me’. My dream is to play Jenna in this musical, and I can’t wait for the day I get to see it. I would rate this musical a 5 out of 5 stars purely because of the songs! There are serious songs but really funny ones too!

3) Dear Evan Hansen – This musical is one of my absolute FAVES! I had heard of it before moving to BOA but my friend was OBSESSED with it. She would sing the songs everyday and would make me listen to them. I’m so glad she did that. I like it so much because people can genuinely relate to it. The anxiety in social places is such a big thing in peoples lives and impacts people so much and this musical addresses this idea. My favourite song is ‘Only Us’ and my boy best friend and I have planned to sing this as a duet as soon as possible. I’ve never seen it but it is on my list of to see. I would rate it a 5 out of 5 stars because it is just amazing and so heart warming.

2) SIX – Wow, I don’t even know where to start with this musical. I found SIX at the start of year 10, before anyone else really knew about it. I saw that it had so much potential and didn’t stop listening to the songs. My friends from Team and I did a group song to ‘Ex-Wives’ at our last variety show and we loved it SO much. We worked so hard on it and it turned out amazing. I haven’t seen it, but I was due to see it with my mom and sister after GCSE’S were over but it’s been cancelled so HOPEFULLY they will reschedule it. I listen to the songs so much that if you tested me, I would know it word for word. I would rate this musical a 5 out of 5 stars because of how modern it is. They literally turned Henry the 8th’s wives into a modern band… like how cool is that?!

And finally. My number one spot.

1) Wicked – Wicked, Wicked, Wicked. My absolute fave. I love this musical with everything I have. I’ve seen it four times and I’m due to be seeing it sometime next year. Elphaba has been my dream role since I saw it the first time and the fact I get to be her in a few months time literally AMAZES ME. I was due to be playing Elphaba on the 9th of February but the show got cancelled due to Storm Ciara. I was so upset, I was so ready to do it and smash it. But it got cancelled. And now it is cancelled for even longer because of the coronavirus. I worked so hard but can’t wait to play her (even though I’ve got to be painted green). My favourite song is ‘Defying Gravity’ as it is so climatic! I was and still am so nervous to sing this song ahaha because of how hard it is! But I can’t wait. I would rate this musical a 10 out of 5 stars. It just literally is PERFECT.

So, there you have it. My top ten musicals. I hope you guys liked this post! I’ll see you soon with another post.

My Paranormal Experiences

Hey hey hey! It’s Neve and welcome back to my blog. If you follow along on my YouTube channel (Dreamy Nevey), you would know that I have experienced a few experiences with the paranormal and the afterlife.

Now it’s up to you on whether you believe me or other people’s stories on their experiences, I know some people won’t believe me as this is such an open minded subject. But I thought I would tell you some experiences I’ve had with the other side…

I’m going to dicuss two stories from when I was at BOA.

  1. The Radio Slammer:

This is my first experience at my school. As you know, I go to a performing arts school. This means that we have a LOT of extra curricular activities of the arts. I’ve also been interest in presenting, so I decided that on a Monday night after school, friends and I would present a radio show for one hour.

We would talk about anything, we would always ask our listeners to give us topics over on our twitter and we would debate for hours about subjects like ‘Do you call it dinner or tea?’. We had such a good time presenting and we grew our Monday evening family so quick.

The way the radio station worked was that it was all out in the open. It was above the reception to the academy and it had a private section. As all of the equipment was so expensive, we had to make sure everything was locked when we left, everything was turned off when leaving too. The people that presented the radio had a lanyard for two doors to get into the radio station. You could not get into the radio station without a teacher’s lanyard or your own lanyard. When doing the radio, you have to register to get access into the station, which meant you have to use your lanyard to enter. My lanyard was registered and my friends’ lanyards were too. I repeat, you could not get into the station without your lanyard or your teacher’s lanyard. This is very important to my story.

One Monday night, we decided we were going to discuss paranormal experiences and whether we believed in the afterlife. I’ve always been interested in the paranormal and I 100% believe in it so I told a few of my stories on the show that night. I was facing the door to the radio room 1. Outside that door there is a really long window that you can look out of into the reception. I’m so glad that I was facing this window otherwise I would not even believe myself telling this story.

When you walk out from the radio station 1, there is a door around the corner. This door reflects into the window that looks out into the reception. It is a very heavy door, very heavy. To get out of the station you have to click a button to let you out because of security reasons and then the other side you have to scan your lanyard.

I was playing the next song on the radio when all of a sudden we all heard the heavy door close. I looked in the reflection and no one was there. We knew it wasn’t a teacher because the teachers hate to disturb students when they are doing radio shows and all the cleaners had already come in and cleaned as we said bye to them.

I was so scared but it was so weird because our show that night was about paranormal experiences.

After that night, I always walked into the radio station and greeted hi to whatever was there. It has happened a few times after that, but we are use to it now. It won’t hurt us.

This next story is based in our school theatre.

2. Tiptoe in the theatre

Our final show was Pippin, at BOA. We had been getting ready for showtime at 4:30 until 6:45pm. My friend had asked me to go into the theatre with her so she could organise her quick change. We were the only ones in there because everyone was eating and the technical theatre students were eating too. My friend was backstage, while I was walking around the stage. I could hear steps coming from above our heads on the beam where the band sits.

My friend mentioned it to me first with “Did you hear those footsteps?”. I had heard those footsteps but brushed it off as nothing. I said to her, “I did. We’re the only ones in here.”

My friend then proceeded to ask me, “Has anyone come in, though?” I replied with no. I knew then that if she had heard it too and there definitely was no one in there that something paranormal was happening. The footsteps carried on. I proceeded to shout “Hello!”. No answer. I wasn’t scared, I was surprisingly calm.

So, there you have it. My paranormal experiences at school. If you want to know some more, let me know!

See you soon, angels.

My Musical Theatre Story

Hey hey hey! It’s Neve here and welcome back to my blog!

Today’s post is going to be about my musical theatre story. As a lot of you may know through my instagram and my youtube, I am really into musical theatre and I have been doing it for 9 years. It is a massive part of my life and I would like to go into that career when I’m older.

Let’s start from the beginning.

I first found my love for musical theatre through the movie musical: Mamma Mia! I remember the day that Mamma Mia! came out. I went to see it with my nan and since then, it has been my nan and I’s film. We were obsessed with the songs and the storyline. Especially me.

My biggest inspiration is Meryl Streep who is actually in the film Mamma Mia! She inspires me because of how she can connect with the characters. She is a wonder woman!

Now, you may be asking: How did Mamma Mia make you start musical theatre?

Well, here’s the thing. I’ve always had a talent for holding a note, in other words, singing. My parents and family have always said to me ‘You need to do something with it’. I was always dismissive of it as I was a shy kid who only liked to be in front of the camera at home, but then I saw Mamma Mia! I realised that I did need to do something with my voice, and that was when I started team.

Team is a musical theatre group for all ages. The name team comes from working as a team to do the shows. This includes the costumes, technical theatre and of course the performers.

Team has always been a second family to me, a place where I can feel safe and enjoy my passion. I started with my main talent as singing, but then I progressed my dancing skills and my acting skills. All of these talents made me happy and I want/ed to pursue my dreams.

In year 9, I made the biggest decision of my life.

I decided to move from my secondary school to a school in Birmingham at the start of year 10, where I could focus on musical theatre as a BTEC. I’ve just finished my second year there and I loved it; it was my time to leave. Due to the coronavirus, my journey at BOA had to be cut short. I was made to say goodbye to friends I made for life and I had to say goodbye to the bestest friends I’d ever made. I could have made the decision to stay but the school was too far away to travel every day, and it was physically and mentally draining.

I wouldn’t say I lost my love for musical theatre; because it was so intense working there, it made me enjoy it a little less. Now, I’ve never admitted this but I feel I can here because i’m just behind a screen telling you my MT story. I decided to move to a college nearer to me, to focus on my acting. So, in September (hopefully), I will be starting an acting BTEC at a new college. I will miss my friends and doing MT every day but this is the right thing for me to do. Plus, I still get to do musical theatre every weekend at Team.

Here are some of the shows I have been in, team and my old school and BOA (some of them you may know):

  • School of rock (my old school)
  • Little Shanto of Horrors (Team)
  • Aladdin (Team)
  • Beauty and the Beast JR (Team)
  • Pippin (BOA)
  • Heroes and Villains (BOA)
  • 20+ Christmas shows (Team)
  • Olivia (Team)
  • We Will Rock You (Team)
  • Swan Princess (Team)
  • Hercules (Team)
  • What A Knight! (Team)

And I’ve been in SO MUCH MORE! I was also due to play the main character (Elphaba) in my favourite show: Wicked, but due to the storm Ciara Wicked has been postponed 😦 I can’t wait to play my dream role, as soon as possible!

So, that’s my musical theatre story.

And, it’s still growing.

Thank you for reading and I’ll see you next time with another blog post. I love you.

How to motivate yourself!

Hey, hey, hey! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m going to be giving you some tips on how to motivate yourself.

Here’s something for you to think about:
– How often do you feel down?

– How often do you feel motivated to do something?

– When you do feel motivated, how long do you feel it for?

Well… here’s my opinion. I can feel down whenever. One day I could be on top of the world… the next I could be hitting rock bottom. Last year (2019), my mental health state wasn’t very good. In fact, it was the lowest I’ve ever been. But that’s a different story and there’s more to come on that soon! But I was feeling low on a day to day basis, and it wasn’t a nice feeling.

I feel motivated most mornings even when I don’t want to get out of bed, by the end of the day I want to do so much and I barely have any time anymore! But when I do feel motivated, I often feel it for a couple of hours and then I get bored!

Things that get me motivated are doing my makeup, doing YouTube, and doing any work I have.

The more work I complete, the more I want to do and I am more likely to complete any essays because I am in the flow of things.

I hope this has helped you guys to feel more motivated! Make sure you follow my instagram : @dreamyneveyofficial

I’ll see you soon ❤
